We have been invaded by the Japanese again. At eight  this morning, sixty of them were at my door. I was up and had my shower, dressed and had a cup of coffee, everyone was still asleep or in the bathrooms when my doorbell rang. When I opened the door all I could see were people. Is this the residence of Miss Kay Brown? he ask. Yes I am Kay. I an Mr. Soto and this is my team. They all bowed to me. I was stunned.......and I bowed back.......Please wait one minute. I grabbed my phone and keys and said please come this way. I walked across the hall and unlocked the model and said.. Please come in and they all did. Make yourself comfortable. The bathrooms are in the bedrooms. I called Fay, do you have paper cups I have plastic cups. bring them to the model, please. I'm sorry Mr. Soto you took me by surprise. I'm very sorry. I didn't expect you to bring your entire team. We are on a very tight schedule and I am following orders. Is this our space? no.... a....Please one moment.  Thank you Fay, Mr. Soto this is Miss Fay Childs, Mr. Soto. They exchange greetings, she is my realtor and posing as the building Manager. She brought some cups for your staff. Would you...... Do all of you speak English? Yes  we all are very fluent in your language. Thank you. Can we offer you coffee or something. Miss brown This Is Miss Loo, she is our food coordinator.           We are scheduled to stay at the Holiday Inn today but we can't enter until eleven AM. So we came here. Then I need office space. This space is very nice for myself and my staff. This is our model. It is the only one that is furnished at this time. We need twelve like this and four to use as office space. Do you want to buy sixteen units? Yes. can you furnish twelve like this? and can we use four for office space in this building. Of course. We have a boxes arriving this afternoon with all of our supplies and we need to set up our offices. As you can see we have a transportation problem, working and living in the same building will help some. Yes I understand. Can We look at the spaces at this time? Joe and Kay entered with two young men from the hotel. They were carrying fruits and pastries and juice drinks and coffee. Ken would you like coffee. Yes please. I poured each of us coffee . Would you like something to.... No thank you. Lets go down to the office and start there.  I showed him the office and a plan of the building and of a single floor, floor plan. This is very nice. This way to the pool and we walked through to the spa. sauna,  Jacuzzi showers restrooms. Two office spaces. and we walked through and out to the hall.  We have thirty eight parking spaces below and forty eight outside. We took the elevator up one floor and entered one unit this is like the space your staff are in except opposite floor plan. Yes I understand. we went up three more floors and went through to the terrace. This is very nice It reminds me of my home in Tokyo. This is the top floor of the sixteen units. I think this will be my unit. Ok I give you twenty four and the offices for rent are available to me? Do you want to lease the two offices? Yes. They are five thousand a month each. Ok and pool and spa. They come with the building, no charge. How much to decorate twelve units without computers or televisions.. two like your model and everything else the same except twin beds in ten units. and thirty more chest of drawers. Lets go back up stairs and I will answer your question. I returned Ken to his staff and I went to my place.
          Everyone is up. Good morning everyone. Betty I need your help....I told her what I wanted and she got on the phone and made some calls. What's going on? Jenny asked? I'm dealing real-estate. I went back to Ken to talk more. He said, I want to lease the two offices for five years for five thousand a month each . Would you rather buy them. No It will be better to lease them. Ok that's fine. My phone rang, Excuse me, Hello Betty. Parts and labor as you ask and my part, two hundred and forty thousand. What is the time frame? they can start tomorrow stocking the units with what they have and order tomorrow and my office will start their part tomorrow and everything will be in place a week from tomorrow. With some reservations. I explained everything to Ken and he said. I accept. What is the next step. Contracts. Ok. Sixteen units Twenty four million, one check? one lease for two spaces, times three, check for thirty thousand? and check for two hundred and forty thousand? With reservations? Yes I will have Fay do the paper work. Ken took his checkbook out and wrote out three checks. It is very good to do business with you Kay. The pleasure is all mine. The paperwork will be ready tomorrow. Thank you Kay that is good. The staff are all watching television in all the bedrooms and taking turns on the computers, Ken is about thirty five I think and most everyone else are about twenty five, average and there are about twenty women and forty men. Ken asked me. Can I have everything from this unit in my new unit. If you Like, Yes, I like very much. He stayed with his staff. and I went back to my place.
          What are you doing Kay. Well the Japanese are here. You have seen them? Yes I have. I handed Jenny a check for twenty four million. Oh my god, You did it. Everyone was cheering me and at the same time they were going crazy with excitement. I gave Betty a check for two hundred and forty thousand and I have a check for thirty thousand for a lease for the two office spaces for five thousand each for five years. How in the hell do you do it Kay. You are outstanding. I will be back in awhile....... Ken I called the hotel and they are ready for you and your people when you are ready. We were delivered here by the airport busses, can you help us. Of course. I will take care of everything. Hello Joe. I need sixty of your guests delivered to your hotel. Hi Kay, I will be there in five minutes with another limo and we will have them here in no time. They will be wanting lunch very soon. I have you covered Kay. Thank you Joe, I owe you, I hope so. we both giggled.  Ken have your people go down to the lobby. There are two limos on the way from the hotel to shuttle all of you to the hotel. Our boxes should arrive after our meal. Joe and Fay came up And I introduced Ken to Joe and they talked about the hotel. Fay here is a check for the two offices. five, ten, thirty thousand. Great. I need contracts for sixteen units. What?? Yes sixteen units. Fay make yourself a check for .....No.. do we have one unit left ? Yes, just one. Fay, its yours. What? Its mine? Yes its yours. I just under sold you and that's not fair. She grabbed me and hugged me and I could see she was crying. You are wonderful. I will get all the paperwork ready. Fay come to my place and I will help with contracts names and everything.
          I went back to my place and sat down at the table. Well speed ball how is things going? I just gave a unit away. Jenny said, That's fine. Betty said,  Kay, I have no complaints. You can't do no wrong in my eyes. Jenny ask who did you give it to? Fay. I promised her commission on the units and I under sold her so I owed her. You did a good job. What is left? we still have the top floor to do as we want. That's good so far we are splitting forty million three ways plus a lot of change still to come. In less than ten days. That is outstanding. Jack would be proud. Did some one mention my name. I turned around and he is standing in the door. I stood up and turned toward him. Hello Jack Hello Kay. So you're giving money away. I thought I taught you better. You did,  I was paying a debt. That's different. Good to see you, you to Jack. How about some lunch, I'm starving. Come on everyone. we can introduce everyone in the limo. Yes. George is waiting in the limo for us. You drove here? Hey it's something to do. He's hungry too. As we were leaving Ken was leaving the model and he turned toward us. Mr. Soto this is my friend Mr. Anderson.  Good to meet you Mr. Soto. Likewise Mr. Anderson. Ken here is the house key to keep and a keys to the offices and your unit. Yes,  we are going to the hotel now. I will be here when you return. Good bye for now.......
          Looks like you're doing quite well Kay. I can't believe what she has been doing. Jack, she is a fire ball, Jenny said. Yes she surly is. Hello George Hi Kay how you been? George you limo is a mess. We have been to Colorado skiing and the snow is twenty feet deep up there. Looks like you were under the snow. We were for a while. I will have it cleaned after lunch. At the restaurant we talked about the new building and Jack was really impressed with everything. He told us about his adventure  driving across country with George. The great lakes, Colorado, Las Vegas, L.A. and many other places.  We had a lot of fun but we are flying home tomorrow and leaving the limo for you. I will buy another one when we get home. We finished our dinner and had wine and we all relaxed. Jack the unit across from ours is empty, you and George can stay there tonight I called Joe and ask him where we could have the limo detailed. Kay I will pick it up in about an hour and have it done for you. Thank you Joe I owe you more. Kay I can't think of anyone I would rather have owe me.
