Fay and I had Joe drive us
to our meeting this morning. The contractor and architect were waiting when
we arrived. I had the drawings I had made over the enlarged plot plan and
they were impressed with my ideas and my drawings. With their help we
were able to stay close to what I have in mind. They were very patient with
me and we combined ideas and made room for commercial space on the street
and we changed from mobile to Module units that are permanent rather than
mobile. I told Kay on the way home to close the deal and my contractor and
architect were off to the city to see what they had to say and to call me as
soon as they had answers.
Joe, Fay and I had lunch and we talked
about the project for awhile. We went over the plot plan as we ate. I
found several things I will change before we do the final drawings.
After lunch Joe dropped us off at our place and returned to work. We
will meet again tomorrow and find out everything from the planning dept.
Fay called me to tell me the paperwork for the purchase of the land can
take place tomorrow. I am excited and hoping I'm not making a mistake.
Fay came up later and we talked about the market in the area were
looking at. Fay if I was to list this property, how much could I sell it
for? Are you going to sell it? No but I'm just curious what is it really
worth? Probably around ten to twelve as it is. but if you did the
grading and the dirt work maybe fifteen to eighteen mill and that is all
the dirt work ready for construction to start The contractor said it
could cost close to two mill to do it.
Jenny called me and said...... Kay I'm
having trouble and need to tell you something and I need to know how you
feel about it. What is it Jenny. Before Sally died we were partners in
the Photography studio, Well I was Ok with it but we had been doing it
for several years and I was working with Jack and I have tired of him
also even though the money was good and I don't mind continuing working
with him. But without Sally its just not the same and I want to get out
of it. All of our people are very dedicated and they work good with each
other. Christine is working out very well and our catalogue
photographer is excellent. I don't think you have the time or the will
to run it and I mean no disrespect, but what would you think if we
turned the entire operation over to our employees and they figure out
who is to do what by setting up their own board. I would continue
running our corporate deal in Florida and let Fay run things in
California. I would like to move to one of the units there but I will
keep my place also. Jenny You're thinking the same thing I am. I would
like the same thing as you described. and I would like to keep the unit
I'm in here. Do we retain the studio and the profits? I was thinking we
could keep twenty five percent each and they would split the other fifty
percent, with the chairperson taking a double cut of the profit for the
responsibility and everyone would continue with the wage and commission
base they have now. Sounds good to me Jenny. Now we will be neighbors.
Kay, will this work Ok for you? I mean are you Ok with all the changes?
Jenny I am fine with it. Whatever you do, I'm Ok with it. The same goes
for me, Kay. Are you coming out? We all are next week for the bathing
suit photo shoot. Ok, call me if you need anything, I will see you then.
I love you, Me too, I love you too.........KB
